I am 2/3 of a great teacher
I currently have 3 classes that I teach. Two geometry and one algebra II class. For the last three days I have been an aesome Geometry teacher. I know the rules. I can solve the problems, and the students have been geeting into it.
Algebra II is a differnt story. I have had a very difficult time remembering the rules, and today was the worst yet. I was up in front of class and a student asked me how to solve a problem. I felt confident in that I thought I knew how to solve this. I raised my marker and spoke aloud "To solve this, you must use cramers rule, wich states:...." I blanked. I had no clue what cramers rule is, or how the hell to use it. I moved aside and handed out a crossword. I am an aweful Algebra teacher. I decided to assign myself all of the homework from the current and next day to make sure I am on ball. I beleive I am ready for tommorow.
Well if nothing else I have 3 geometry classes in the Spring. I know I can handle that.

Don't get discouraged. There's no shame in saying "i'll tell you tomorrow" or "there's no time today, but ask me again before the test." Students will respect that.
Sounds like it's going pretty well, though.
Or you could always act like you were getting the students involved and have the big-fucking-dorky-kid-who-knows-everything do it...
every classroom has one.
